Getting started
How do I add my family?
Tap Invite on the map. You'll get a one-time code and a QR code. They install Fam & a Half,
then scan the QR code with their iPhone camera or enter the code under "I have an invite code".
Why does it ask for "Always" location?
So your circle still sees you when the app is closed. You can pause sharing at any time, and choose precise,
approximate or off for each circle.
Someone isn't updating
Ask them to open Fam & a Half once. If the app was swiped away in the app switcher, iOS stops it until it's opened again.
Check Settings > Fam & a Half > Location is set to Always with Precise Location on.
Low Power Mode can delay updates.
Their row on the map tells you if their phone has a problem, such as location being turned off.
Safety features
SOS: tap SOS, then press and hold for 2 seconds. Everyone in your circles is alerted with your exact location. In an emergency, call 999 first.
Check in: tells your circle you're OK, with your location.
On my way: shares your ETA until you arrive.
Crash detection: if you're driving and a hard impact is detected, you have 30 seconds to say you're OK before an SOS starts. Turn it on or off in Settings.
Your account and data
Pause sharing: Settings > Pause sharing.
Export your data: Settings > Your data > Export my data.
Delete your account: Settings > Your data > Delete my account. This deletes everything straight away. No longer have the app? See delete your account.
